A loan helped a member to buy flour at wholesale.

18 De Mayo Group's story

The “18 D. Mayo” communal bank is a new one. It has 8 members, 6 women and two men. The women are merchants selling clothes and other items.

Guadalupe is the bank President. She has a son and she makes masitas (pastries), cookies and bread. She is a home-based pastry baker and also sells prepared food on Saturdays and Sundays. She will use the loan to buy flour and sugar in quantity to make her cookies thus increasing her working capital.

Maura is bank Secretary. She sells clothing via catalogue on order from customers and with payment plans. She will use the loan to buy more merchandise for her business thus improving her income.

All the members are grateful to the institution for the support provided by granting the loan.

One of the members does not appear in the photo due to health issues.
