I wrote the book “I SPaT” to chronicle my journey of alcoholism, drug addiction, multiple arrests, and single parenting through prose and poetry. That was the beginning of my penning and publishing ten books. This includes four children’s books based on the individual personalities of my two sons and two daughters.
In 2018, I turned my attention to assisting other writers in achieving their literary goals. In that effort, I wrote and published two non-fiction books. “Seeking and Securing Individual Artist Grants” provides the steps, tools, and resources for funding art and business-related projects and professional development with grants and sponsorships. My 2nd non-fiction title walks authors through the print-on-demand self-publishing process. I founded and launched the Bridges Book Club in 2019 to create a network of literary professionals excited about furthering their careers and that of others by gaining and giving knowledge about the writing and publishing industry.
In 2021 I began focusing on how I could utilize my writing skills to help other entrepreneurs and small businesses generate revenue through grant and proposal writing, publishing, and business consulting services. ISPT Publishing LLC was born from the need to help others navigate the corporate marketplace by providing professional writing, administrative, and consulting services that foster business growth and development.
I am working toward becoming an Ohio Certified Peer Recovery Supporter to share my story and encourage others with related Mental Health and Substance Use concerns. It is a full-circle moment for me, my art, and my community.

I started my publishing company, ISPT Publishing LLC, in 2014 to self-publish the books that I wrote. The mission of the publishing company is to create and publish positive media content for and in collaboration with the African Diaspora. I love partnering with other artists and organizations to help bring my vision to fruition. I also enjoy helping people recognize the creative visionary in themselves and to reach their artistic goals. My collaborative efforts have afforded me the opportunity to curate two art exhibits based on original art I commissioned for illustrations and cover art. In everything I create, I endeavor to live by my motto - Read Books, Breathe Art, Bless UP.
In 2020 I pivoted my creative output to fashion, and in 2023 I published an evergreen calendar that combines my poetry and fashion sense while highlighting Black Designers in "Damsel In Dis-Dress." I am planning a performance in 2024 to share my story through the songs, poetry, and short stories I have written, along with showcasing African Centered Fashion. My creative endeavors are supported by the work that I do as a business and professional writer for other businesses, organizations, and institutions.

What is the purpose of this loan?
Specifically, this Loan will be used for the following:
Annual Fees for Software Apps; CPA and Legal Fees; and Inventory (Books).
Software: A Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to streamline and optimize operations by centralizing data, enhancing communication, improving efficiency, and supporting relationship management. Annual subscriptions for accounting, website, documents, and graphic design software tools are central to keeping the business operational.
Professional Services: Legal and accounting services are required to ensure compliance and handle financial matters.
Marketing and Advertising: Costs for website development, online and social media advertising, and other marketing activities to promote services.
Office Equipment: Computer, monitor, and printer for efficient and precise processing of information and material.
Working Capital: Inventory, including books and other professional publications, license, vendor, and organization membership fees.
The loan will allow ISPT Publishing to expand its professional writing and publishing client base by streamlining operations, establishing revenue-generating processes, and creating a more significant online footprint. With sound legal and accounting guidance, we will be able to utilize joint venture partnerships with other entrepreneurs and small business owners to increase capacity, round out capabilities and enhance opportunities to accept small clients and attract large corporate and government contracts.
I will also be able to promote my personal brand and publications through new marketing efforts, including vending opportunities, online ads, and social media content creation. This loan will afford me the opportunity to continue writing, telling, and sharing my personal and professional journey.

What is the disbursed date?
In the case of partner loans, many of our Lending Partners choose to disburse loan funds before the loan request is posted on Kiva. We allow pre-disbursal because it ensures that the funds reach the borrower as soon as they are needed. Loan funds from Kiva lenders then go to backfill that amount and as a lender you assume the risk of the loan. By doing this, our Lending Partners assume the risk that, if the loan isn't funded by lenders, they will have to fund the loan without any funds from Kiva.
If a partner loan is not pre-disbursed, it will be listed on Kiva with an expected "post-disbursed" date. What does "Partner covers currency loss" mean & how could it affect my Kiva loans?
Potential for currency exchange loss is noted on every loan profile under the loan details:
"Yes" means the Lending Partner will cover any currency loss. Lenders will not bear losses due to currency fluctuation
"Partial" means that the Lending Partner has opted to cover losses only up to 10%. If the U.S. dollar appreciates more than 10% against the local currency, those losses will be passed onto lenders.
"No" means that the Lending Partner is not covering any currency losses and all losses will be passed onto lenders.
"N/A" means the Lending Partner disburses loans to borrowers in USD so their loans are not subject to any currency fluctuation.
Do Kiva borrowers pay any interest on their loans?
Our partners collect interest from borrowers because there are many operational expenses associated with microfinance in developing markets, especially in rural areas. Many of Kiva's Lending Partners also provide additional services alongside their loan products such as business training, financial literacy lessons, or health services.
Kiva will not partner with an organization that charges unreasonable interest rates, and we require Lending Partners to fully disclose their rates. In addition, we only partner with microfinance institutions and organizations that have a social mission to serve the poor, unbanked, and underserved.
