A loan helped buy more materials to improve her husband's carpentry business.


Phourn's story

Phourn S., 31, sells Chinese noodles, earning an income of $20 per day. S. is married and resides with her husband and two children in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, an area known for the Angkor Wat Temple.

The family has to spend $40 on food, $10 on electricity supply and $70 on other necessary expenses every month. Her husband is a carpenter, earning an income of $17 per day.

S. is requesting a loan of $1,000 to purchase more materials to improve her husband's carpentry business. In the future, she would like to use any additional profit to repair her house. This is her first loan from CREDIT, a long-standing Kiva partner in Cambodia.
