A loan helped to purchase more fasionable clothes for resale,.

Robinah's story

Robinah is 35 years old and lives in the town of Kabuusu in the Makindye region of Uganda. She is married and has 2 children who are currently in school. For the past 10 years, Robinah has been working hard to manage her boutique, which sells all kinds of kids clothes, like shirts, dresses etc.

To help expand her business, Robinah has requested a loan of 1,300,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more fashionable clothes for resale, and will help Robinah to generate greater profits and provide enough basic needs for her family and also pay school fees for her children. Robinah hopes that in the future she will be able to expand her business into whole sale and a poultry farm.

Robinah is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small Group members who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
