A loan helped to buy seasonal fruit wholesale.

Miriam's story

Miriam is 32 years old. She lives with her partner Walter who is 30. They have 2 children: 8 year-old Steve and 2 year-old Reynaldo. They live in her parents' house which is in the city of Tarma. This hard-working woman gets up very early every morning to sell a variety of fruit. Her good sales sense helps her to make good profits. Miriam's secret is to sell fruit that is in season. Every month she has new and rich varieties of fruit. Her 6 years of experience have guaranteed her success since every day she makes a profit of 50 Peruvian soles and on Thursdays and Sundays, which are market days, there are a lot of customers and she makes a profit of 100 soles.

Miriam really likes to get ahead in life and she likes being able to help her husband with the household expenses. In the future, she would like to open a small grocery store where she can sell convenience store products to the people in her neighborhood.

This is Miriam's sixth loan from MFP and she is grateful for the constant educational talks which are given during the meetings held by her community bank. She feels that she learns something new every day. Miriam will invest her loan in buying seasonal fruit which she will sell in one of the best-known markets in her city.
