The communal bank "Wara Wara de los Andes" (Star of the Andes) is a group that is requesting a loan for the first time from the Andean central office of Pro Mujer Bolivia. This group has 11 members: 10 women and one man. They will meet every 15 days, for training and to make their payments, which will allow them to get to know each other better. The board is comprised of Leonarda, who is president, Carmen, who is the treasurer, and Rosemary, who is the recording secretary.

Carmen is a young woman who is 24 years old. As treasurer, she has the delicate task of accounting for the inflows and outflows of funds. With respect to her business, she has a sewing workshop and she has 7 years of experience in this line of work. She requests 2,000 Bolivianos to buy fabric.

With respect to the businesses that support the rest of the members of the communal bank, they are varied, including: a sewing workshop, the sale of bread, carpentry, a general store, the sale of plastic bags, the sale of potato flour at wholesale, silk-screen printing, the sale of food, and the sale of woven blankets and macrame.
