Señora Jesús is a founding member of the community bank Maria Auxiliadora, and she likes the community bank because she always learns more in the meetings. This bank meets every 15 days in the Sequita de Montecristi parish, a district known as the birthplace of the old revolutionary Eloy Alfaro.
She is 42 years old. She has been married for 20 years and has 4 children. One is already an adult, but all of them live with her and study in secondary school or university. Her husband works in masonry.
She raises pigs, which she buys when they are still little. She has them for three to four months until they have adequate weight and then she butchers them and takes the meat to the market to sell. She does this once or twice a week. She works two hours every day in the care and feeding of her pigs, and in this way she helps her children.
She will use this loan to buy two sows that are pregnant and the food and medicines for their growth.
Her dream is that her children finish their studies and have good careers.
