A loan helped to buy sugar, lemon juice and palm oil.

Mma Awa's story

Mma Awa is 59 years old and lives with a big family including her children and grand children. She has worked in retail since her youth and sells sugar, lemon juice and palm oil. She buys sugar in bulk to resell in large bags or 1kg bags depending on her customers' preferences. For the lemon juice and palm oil, she buys 20 litre canisters that she carries to Dakar to sell through a middleman.

Mma Awa's business is going well and the diversification of her sales allowed her to make more profits. She is requesting a loan to buy more products and develop her business.

She uses the profits to meet her personal needs and cover part of the family's expenses. Her dream is to open a grocery store and have her children run it.
