A loan helped open a fruit and vegetable shop.

Ameera's story

Ameera is a 45-year-old housewife. Her sons and daughters are now able to care for themselves. Her husband is a farmer who plants vegetables and fruit, and then sells his produce to shops in Jenin.

Because her children are grown, Ameera thought she might help her husband by renting a small shop to sell the vegetables and fruits he produces.
Ameera took a $1,000 loan to rent the shop and prepare it to exhibit vegetables and fruits. Ameera sells at a good price in order to have regular customers.

Ala, Ameera's son, appears in the photograph in the Faten office, because Ameera is not comfortable having her picture online.
