A loan helped to buy lemons, coconuts, and tomatoes, among other fruits and vegetables.

Leonor Rosario's story

Leonor Rosario and her family live in Riochico, a parish in Portoviejo that's attractive for tourism and gastronomy, and which also has been very impacted by Covid-19.

She's a persevering woman who always gets ahead with her husband despite how difficult everything is from the effects of the pandemic. They work buying and selling lemons, coconuts, vegetables, and other fruits. They buy from farmers in the area and then take them to market in the city to sell to retail vendors.

At the beginning of the pandemic things got very bad because they couldn't go out to sell. What little they did manage to sell was at their house, which left them very bad economically. At the moment things are better and they're selling almost as much as before.

This loan is to buy lemons, coconuts, and tomatoes, among other fruits and vegetables.
