A loan helped purchase containers, utensils, and sacks of potatoes.

Rebeca's story

Rebeca is 37 years old. She lives with her husband and children in the house of her in-laws. For the past three years, Rebeca has been selling gelatin as a street merchant. She walks in the mornings to different areas of the city, selling 30 portions each day.

A year ago, Rebeca also began selling peeled and chopped potatoes. She sells up to 100 kilos of processed potatoes each day. Her main customers are local restaurants. Rebeca’s husband helps out by handling the distribution. This job requires tremendous physical effort, so she wakes up at dawn to peel and chop potatoes and prepare containers of gelatin. In the future, she wants to change the presentation of her gelatins by offering other shapes and colors. Rebeca also wants to buy machines that can produce peeled and chopped potatoes in large quantities.

This is the second opportunity in which she has received a loan from MFP. During this time, Rebeca has proven that she is punctual with her payments and can work in a responsible manner. The money she is requesting will be used to buy packaging and disposable spoons for selling gelatin. In addition, she will purchase sacks of potatoes.
