Ginalyn's story

Ginalyn Q. is from the village of Dela Paz, Clarin, Misamis Occidental. She is 31 years old. Ginalyn is married and has one school-aged child. To make a living, Ginalyn owns and operates a fishing business, catching and selling ocean-caught fish in the local community. Ginalyn has been engaged in her business for over three years and earns approximately 4,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) a month through the business.

In 2008, Ginalyn joined PMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Ginalyn has successfully repaid a previous loan of 7,000 PHP from PMPC. This previous loan was used to purchase additional fish to sell. Ginalyn is requesting a new loan of 12,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase a fishing boat. This will be the fifth loan taken out by Ginalyn from PMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to supplement her family's income.
