A loan helped a member to pay for fruit & vegetables to resell.

Ndeye Mbow's Group's story

These six women live in the same village and are members of the same 'banc villageois' created in June 2009. Their 'banc villageois' is one of the oldest associated with CAURIE-MF in this area.

Ms. Sokhna, sitting at the right in the photo with a hand raised, is the group's representative. She is 49, married, and the mother of six, including three girls. She joined the 'banc villageois' at its inauguration and is currently its president. For ten years, she has been developing a business selling fruit & vegetables.

With this loan, she envisions purchasing a sack of carrots, a sack of cabbage, a sack of sweet potatoes, 2 sacks of oranges, etc. She will use the profits from her business for tontines and for her personal needs, since she has already purchased a plot of land on which to build.

In this group: Ndeye Mbow, Bourry, Fatoumata Dramé, Sokhna, Fatima, Awa
