A loan helped to buy a new moto rickshaw for her son-in-law's rickshaw transportation service to earn profitable income.

Shehnaz's story

Shehnaz is a 51-year-old married woman living along with her family members in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is standing with her son-in-law because her husband was not present there. She is an active borrower with BRAC Pakistan. Shehnaz's son-in-law has been driving a moto rickshaw and pays a daily fare because this rickshaw does not belong to him. He belongs to an ultra poor family. He was worried for many days about how to avoid paying a daily fare, so he decided to buy his own rickshaw. Her son-in-law has been saving for many days to buy a new moto rickshaw, but at the time of purchasing some money became short. Therefore, Shehnaz requested a loan for her son-in-law so that he can buy a new rickshaw with the contribution of some savings. She hopes that now her son-in-law's income will increase because he will not pay a daily fare to anyone.

She thanks Kiva and its field partner BRAC Pakistan.

This loan is special because:
