A loan helped to buy a large quantity of cloth and tailoring accessories for her husband's sewing business.

Shahnaz's story

Shahnaz is 46 years old and an active borrower of BRAC Pakistan. She resides in Lahore, Pakistan, with her spouse and two children. Her husband has been operating his own tailoring shop at the local market for many years. His specialty is sewing coats and waistcoats. Her husband is solely responsible for meeting the needs of the entire family. Shahnaz and her husband are shown in the photo with some of the waistcoats and coats that he produces.

Her husband needs to buy a large quantity of cloth and tailoring accessories such as thread, needles, designing buttons, machine oil, and other supplies. However, due to financial constraints, he is not in a suitable condition to buy these items for his business. For this reason, Shahnaz has applied for a Kiva loan from field partner BRAC Pakistan. With the help of this loan, she will be able to assist her husband financially so that he can acquire cloth and tailoring accessories to fulfill the needs of his business and earn a more profitable income.

Shahnaz is very grateful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan for the financial assistance.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Pakistan.
