A loan helped to buy drinks, cocoyams, palm oil, beans, rice and vegetable oil.

Anna Nchang's story

She is single with one child and lives in a two-bedroom apartment in Bamenda, Mezam Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. She has faced so many challenges in life, among which are inadequate capital to carry out her business, the death of her brother, sister and father who were of great support to her, the sickness of her child that required her to spend almost all of her capital on medication and hospital bills, and other family problems.

She has taken and successfully repaid loans seven times and says with this new loan requested, she will expand her restaurant and bar business by buying more crates of drinks, cocoyam, palm oil, beans, rice and vegetable oil. She holds a positive view of her business succeeding because of longevity in the business. She has regular customers who drink and eat at her bar, and she supplies drinks in her community on occasions. She has a good business location.

With this business activity, the community will have a regular supply of drinks and food at moderate prices; credit facilities will be offered to regular and trustworthy customers; and people in the community will not have to go long distances to buy food and drinks.

With the profit from this loan, she will educate her child by providing them with the necessities needed in school, put back some profits in her business for expansion, provide for her family's medication, and take care of other family members.

This loan is special because:

It is coupled with multi-faceted trainings to support the poorest in Cameroon.
