A loan helped ream to buy a cow.

Ream's story

Aged 59 years, Ream is married and lives with her family in a rural area of Kampot Province. Ream has been farming for thirty years, and that, plus extra income as a schoolteacher, are the family’s main sources of income. She is able to save about 3 US dollars a day. The main challenge to her farming is destruction by insects.

Ream has applied for a 2,500,000 KHR loan through Kiva's field partner VisionFund Cambodia. With it she will buy a cow to add to her rice farming as a way to gain good profits. She hopes with a good income she can improve her family’s lifestyle.
