A loan helped buy construction materials to build a concrete wall.

Guadalupe Esperanza's story

Guadalupe Esperanza J. is 37. She lives in the Memorial Sandino district of Managua. She has two children. Her husband is retired, and she has been working as a professional nurse for thirteen years.

It has taken a lot of hard work, since she started as a cleaner in the hospital. However, she continued with her secondary education and then nursing school, although it was very tiring and she had to make lots of sacrifices in order to buy the books. But she was successful and now has a better job with better pay.

This is her seventh loan from Afodenic, to invest in home improvements; with this loan, she will buy construction materials to build a wall to provide security for her family. She is grateful to the institution for enabling her to improve her home while paying in instalments. She plans to continue studying and to provide support to her children so that they can become upright members of society.
