Affi's story

H. Affi was born around 1949 in Azongbahouto, more precisely in Atinkanme, a neighborhood of Cotonou, economic capital of Benin. Affi's origins are in Grand-Popo in the south of Bénin.

Affi is a widow and the mother of 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls, all of them adults. She sells maize porridge in front of her house. She buys her maize in Bago, a village in the north of Togo, a border country of Benin. She has already received 4 loans from ALIDé to build up a stock of maize. Affi always repays her loans without difficulty. She is requesting a 5th loan from ALIDé to buy maize wholesale and stockpile it.
