A loan helped to purchase more head of cattle.

Vinaca's story

Vinaca belongs to the communal bank “Rio Desaguadero” of the district of Desaguadero, Chucuito Province, in the Department of Puno. Vinaca is 60 years old, a widow, and has 2 children; she never attended school. Vinaca lives in the Lupaza Community in the Patán Sector. She has worked with the Manuela Ramos program for the past 8 years and has a business in the purchase and sale of small cattle. Her first loan was of 300 PEN, which she invested and used as additional capital for her business.
Due to the demand of her clients, she currently is requesting a loan of 3,000 PEN to be able to invest in the purchase of more head of cattle to increase her earnings and help her family.
Vinaca enjoys saving, and the communal bank reunions where she tells us she is always entertained with her friends in the group.
