Why are you interested in becoming a Trustee?

Growth Partners Arizona (GPAz) is the Kiva Tucson hub and we are already very familiar with Kiva and its work. We are a U.S. Treasury certified community development financial institution (CDFI) doing mission-focused lending in underserved communities throughout Arizona. As we work with people in the Phoenix metro area who would be good Kiva candidates, we want to be able to partner with Kiva Phoenix to assist borrowers.

What is the mission of your organization?

Our mission is to provide accessible, fair, and responsible loans and support to Arizona nonprofits and economically underserved small businesses outside the economic mainstream.

Borrower Due Diligence

How will you decide who to endorse as a borrower? What due diligence will you conduct?

As a community-based lender, we already are experienced and well-equipped to ascertain whether the businesses we coach and work with could be good Kiva candidates. We will interview candidates, learn about them and their business, and sometimes perform initial financial due diligence if the candidate is requesting a loan from GPAz.
