Why are you interested in becoming a Trustee?

Entrepreneurship is the key to lifting inner cities out of poverty but financial support is often challenging for small businesses. We can train and teach an entrepreneur how to build their business but they need the funding to make that a reality. We want to support small businesses and bridge the economic divide and we feel Kiva can be a great tool in addition to what we provide our entrepreneurs.

What is the mission of your organization?

To provide the space, education, and resources to help minority and women owned businesses have a fair chance at the American Dream of Entrepreneurship.

Borrower Due Diligence

How will you decide who to endorse as a borrower? What due diligence will you conduct?

we will only refer clients that are incubated in our incubator which are vetted, prepared and are ready to raise the money to launch or expand their business. each entrepreneur that is incubated fills in questionnaires, meets with the team and works on a business plan before they move forward with any form of financing. This helps us ensure that our clients are in a position to pay back their loans on time and make the most out of the financial support.
