Kiva Lending Team: Uff Da
We loan because...
"Uff da", a Scandinavian expression common in Minnesota to convey compassion, empathy or annoyance, or a combination of all. We loan because we are compassionate towards our fellow citizens of the US, and the world. We empathize with those who want to have control over their own life choices, as we also have desire for control over ours. And are annoyed it seems a breakwater is being built to prevent the wave of progress from reaching the shore of equality.
My hope for this investment team is that it will be made up of all kinds; some who have been on the front lines marching for years, some who have been change makers by quiet example, and others who have never thought of themselves as part of a movement or as capable of making a meaningful difference.
