Kiva Lending Team: Worldwide/Canadian Sikhs
We loan because...
To help others.
Sikhism was established because our Guru Ji believed in:
1) Equality for all human beings, regardless of race, creed, or status of an individual.
2) To treat all with compassion and care.
3) To help/serve those less fortunate by offering food (Langar).
The literal meaning of Sikh is = Learn. What this means is life long learner and one should learn humility.
The other main principle is
Seva = we as human beings have a duty to help those less fortunate than us.
WE should not forget to give back to your community by means of service (charitable work).
By no way or means is this a detailed list, just a few main principles.
