Kiva Lending Team: Resource Savers
We loan because...
we believe in using the resources of this planet wisely. We practice and encourage the many "R"s: Repair, Renovate, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replace, Repurpose, Retrofit, etc.
We support borrowers who are using resources creatively, frugally, and minimizing new consumption and avoiding waste where possible.
Some examples of loans would be:
- someone who repairs shoes or appliances as their livelihood
- a business owner who needs money in order to repair a boat or some other tool of their trade
- someone selling second-hand clothing
- someone renovating an existing property rather than building new
This is a new team, open to discussion and refinement of our definition and purpose.
