We, together, want to lend a hand
The Ora RedRoos
“Breaking News” – 8.23.2017
Exciting plans are finally being put in place to develop our Ora RedRoos Team during 2018 - the 8th year of our Team's formation! … whew it’s been a while coming ;-)
Hey come join our Team ! and be the first to know what's afoot when it happens!
Tassie n’ John
Team Co-Captains, Ora RedRoos
Also check out our unadulterated, untouched 'About us' when we formed the Team - previously known as the Kiva RedRoos -way back on September 18th 2010!
If and when I perhaps have the time to promote our Group – I would like to see it emerging as a group of people who:
• Have a love for travel especially to experience authenticity , appreciating cultures discovered, and accepting and learning from the wealth of diversity within our global village.
• Know that we need to protect our natural environment by walking the talk and spreading the word on the need and benefits of living Life sustainably
• Enjoy lending a hand to a neighbor – next door or further afield
• Know how to have fun along Life’s Journey whilst respecting each other.
Tassie-Roo is the ‘Face’ behind the Group and provided the inspiration for the development of the Kiva RedRoos. She is a 2year old pedigree Golden Retriever who was born in a chicken coop. With a $600 check we rescued her and now she is an integral part of our family and business - and won the hearts of all who have got to know her including my mother-in-law.
Tassie is the nickname she prefers to be called by as her pedigree name is rather a long one – It started out as Aotearoa Tassie. (Aotearoa is the Maori name for New Zealand and Tassie is short for Tasmania – the island state of Australia - a hidden gem and a destination my wife and I regard as somewhat special.).
However, it wasn’t long before we found that when Tassie is in a demanding mood to go out for a quick pee she jumps from a sitting position like a Kangaroo and talks to me about the urgency of the matter – eye to eye – fair dinkum! Whoops almost forgot to mention that I’m 6ft 2+. After discovery of this little quirk there was no question, Tassie had to have an even longer name: Aotearoa Tassie-Roo !
