We loan because...
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing" (Edmund Burke). My students help because it is the right thing to do, You cannot change the whole world, but if everyone does one nice thing, the world would be a much nicer place!

About us
100 Environmental Science students who are dedicated to trying to make a difference in this world. My students live by the motto on the door to my classroom which has on it "Carpe Diem", which means don't talk about what you are going to do, or think about what you are going to do, just do it! My students over the last five years have adopted an acre of tropical rainforest, performed a water walk for 2 miles carrying 2-1 gallon jugs of dirty creek water to raise awareness, and $1200 for Play Pumps international, to install fresh water drinking systems in small villages in Sub Saharan Africa. My students have also collected large amounts of cans and boxes of food each of the last five years for our local food pantry. My students have built a large nature trail in the woods behind our school, and have been raising and re-introducing a native species of Salmon (which had become extinct to the local environment), Atlantic Salmon to the creek behind our school. Every fall we now have runs of over 100 salmon that come to spawn in the creek behind our school. My students for three years now have been sponsoring a 10 year old girl from India, who lives in abject poverty (each student contributes $2 a year, and they get to correspond with her). Future plans include working to help groups fighting Genocide (inspired by the movie Hotel Rwanda", and to send students to assist our local chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
