We loan because...
The mission team I'm joining is tasked with establishing a base in a few remote villages, fostering relationships, and building a foundation for future mission trips. Our hope is to be able to return to the established sites and help grow the community through building a school, perhaps helping them establish a medical center, create fresh water and food sources, or create opportunities for them to come together in faith.

About us
The mission team I'm joining is tasked with establishing a base in a few remote villages, fostering relationships, and building a foundation for future mission trips. Our hope is to be able to return to the established sites and help grow the community through building a school, perhaps helping them establish a medical center, create fresh water and food sources, or create opportunities for them to come together in faith.

There are currently four primary contacts that are the core of this mission, a Filipino couple that reside in Beijing, German woman, and a young Chinese college student who's just returned from studying in London. There will be a handful of us travelling together from here. The plan is to mentor teams of people (starting with the graduating students returning to China) whereby they will eventually have the capabilities to continue the established programs we hope to create. As I was speaking to the mission director, he made it a point to explain that this is a hardship mission because of it's location and the lack of resources. I shared that when I was younger I used to live in a tiny barrio in the Philippines, where we didn't have any plumbing or electricity, and can easily relate to these villagers. I was also in the U.S. Army, and speak German. Having shared all that, he told me it was obvious that I needed to join the mission. Needless to say, I did not refuse.

So -- to the point of this message -- and trust that asking does not come easily. Therefore -- if you find it in your heart to assist me in getting to Mongolia, I would forever be grateful! I understand these are not easy times, know that I would not ask if it were not important. This is, by far, one of the most incredible decisions of my life, but feel the need to be a part! It is a worthy cause, and even in these times of hardship, I know I am more blessed than others. It's a simple matter of doing something that can & will make a difference in someone else's life. I am happy that KIVA is set up so I can raise the money and work with my group to help the people in CHINA

My goal is to raise $3500, and the trip is January 8-17, 2010. Any money I can raise above and beyond the cost of my actual trip will be donated directly to the organization. Following is my contact info, should you wish to donate towards my goal:
