Kiva Lending Team: Friends of Bryce Owens
We loan because...
My family has had a long tradition of traveling. I have been fortunate to get to see many places and to visit with many people. We came to the new world in Jamestown, came through the Cumberland Gap and blazed cattle trails out west. My Dad always drove older cars and saw to it that we were exposed to variety in life. I may never get to see first hand many of the places that KIva is helping. I think that if I can do some good in a place that does not have the resources found here then that in a small way is a good thing. I am a traveler, not a tourist. I invite my friends, and friends of friends, to join me on this journey.
We believe that people are basically good and that if they have the opportunity to improve the lives of themselves, their families and communities that they will. People who are in an improving situation will be more happy, they will suffer hunger less and will be better to each other. Happy people who are not hungry will be nicer to each other which will feed a cycle of less crime, violence and abuse. This is a large goal. Every large project is solved by breaking it down into manageable parts. We challenge you to join us.
