Kiva Lending Team: Creative19
We loan because...
A large proportion of the world’s population either live in poverty or are in an economically precarious situation. This situation is both unsustainable on the long term and morally unjust.
As a company, we strive to do consciously do the right thing on a daily basis.
We're customers of the Co-operative Bank. Their ethical charter means that our money is always used by the bank in a sustainable way, (www.co-operativebank.co.uk/aboutus/ourbusiness/ethicalpolicy).
Donating money to Kiva for microfinance loans is an extension of our ethical business practices and ties in perfectly with our business philosophy, both professionally and also as human beings.
We feel that entrepreneurship, ultimately, should not be defined solely by economics alone, but by people's spirit and initiative. Microfinance loans can really help to empower those with less wealth than ourselves and give people a real chance to work towards creating a better life for themselves, their families and their communities.
It can be very inspiring to see others succeed and through giving 7.5% of our annual profits to Kiva, we're very happy to play a (small) part in making a big difference to people's lives in the developing world.
