Apwonjo means 'I teach' in Luo, an African language, but it means so much more than that.
While we are students at the University of Alabama, we are also ready to start a revolution. A revolution of youth who care about a movement, and who can see beyond borders on maps and in our societies enough to look outside of ourselves and our country to help those in the world who need it most. We focus on children, education, and home building for African communities affected by war, poverty, hunger, and disease. It is our mission to open the eyes of our generation to a great cause.
