We loan because...
In 2007, I began putting aside funds in order to start a new company. Instead of opening a savings account, I opened a Kiva account to invest in micro loans. The idea was that while I built up capital for a future company of my own, those funds would benefit other people around the world who were starting their own businesses.

Six years later, having contributed to over 175 loans across 47 countries, the 1880 Company’s endeavor to support hope and opportunity continues. Open to the public, this team represents our family and friends, and our promise to always act with all in mind.

Welcome to the 1880 Company – Kiva Investment Team.

About us
All loans associated with this team firmly remain the property of their original investors, as with any other Kiva loan. Therefore, any loans made in support of the team are done so independently and without any financial return to the 1880 Company. By making loans as a part of our family, you are simply sharing our dream of helping to make the world a better place, and nothing more.
