- About me:
- I grew up extremely poor in a home that was not meant was for children. We were cared for by our grandparents. Not that our parents didn't love us... they were in a different zone. I will never not love my parents... I understand that they were doing what came natural to them. In doing so, it taught me to be a protector of my siblings. We had 16 horses and around 600 rabbits... we had American Pit Bull Terriers on almost every tree in our yard. It was my responsibility as a child to make sure that the horses were taken care of, as well as the rabbits. The chores of the house also fell on me. Not because the other girls were not capable, but the oldest girl decided to move out to live with my mother's family because she wanted a better life. My youngest sister was born with fetal alcohol syndrome and we babied her due to her set backs and multiple trips to Arkansas Children's Hospital. I learned at a young age the value of hard work and discipline. My grandmother, was born in Aquas Clienteles, Mexico and spent her life working in the hotel industry in Monterrey, Mexico. She taught everything about fashion and even taught my oldest sister and I to read and write before we were two years of age. My father was multi-lingual before he was four years of age. She was an extremely good teacher and influenced me greatly. Her only remaining sibling is alive and in the convent in San Antonio, Texas. When I was able to get a job at 14... I had to find my own transportation to and from work. If my parents were not able to pick me up after work... which was usually 10 p.m. or later I would have to walk the 7 mile stretch to our home out highway 5 north. I will never forget that. To be a child... to work after school... to call your parents... to not get an answer... and then to walk the distance to your home. It was an experience. I have raised to fantastic kids. I have a daughter that is working on completing her commercial pilot degree from Ozarka Technical College and my son will graduate this year from Melbourne High School. I bought Ink Spot Graphics, Inc. in February of 2008 with the goals of creating a community based business. We have had some great years and some ok years. But, we are still in business. I am currently seeking funding to help us build a facility that would enable us to have a more community based front. We are innovators and feel that we can make a positive impact on the community. We have been grace since the beginning and want to show that to more people.
