Mwanarusi is a married mother of three children all of whom are in school. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water.
Mwanarusi has operated a cashew nut selling business at the market for the past five years, selling to passersby and neighbors. She cited seasonality as her major challenge in the business. With the 10,000 KES she wants to purchase sacks of cashew nuts for resale. She joined Yehu to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
