Tzcubal 2 Group's story

Cristóbal (first from the left) is the leader of the Group Tzucubal 2 (Collector). He is a 55-year-old man who has 8 children, 2 sons and 6 daughters. They live in the village of Tzucubal in the municipality of Nahualá and department of Sololá.

Cristóbal is a farmer. He sows, maintains and produces corn on his plot located in the village where he lives. He chose this business because of an inheritance from his father and also because it generates food for his family, as corn is the basis of the diet in his community. It also generates income because he sells part of the production (the surplus) in the local market. He has 25 years of experience with this work.

He is asking for a loan for the purchase of improved fertilizer for the maintenance of his corn. With the earnings he obtains, he dreams of improving his family's quality of life, buying them clothing and giving them an education.
