A loan of $750 helped to do maintenance and repair work on his vehicle.

Ciro's story

42-year-old Ciro is a hard-working man. He lives with his wife Doris, with whom he has two children. He looks after his children in the house he acquired 17 years ago. His days are exhausting - he works with a water company and gets paid for his transportation services on a monthly basis. He reports that he greatly enjoys this work, because it's quieter. In his previous occupations he was self-employed and used to transport merchandise to different cities of the country. Now that he has this contract, he feels good. "The whole van is under contract. They pay me two wages, one for my van and one for my driving services. It's profitable and I don't travel to other cities", he says. That's how he hopes to save enough money in order to start a business greasing and washing cars, since his house is in a central location. This is his first Kiva loan. He gives thanks for the support he's received, since it helps him to move his business forward. In addition, he pledges to make his repaments in a timely fashion. Ciro will use the money to do maintenance and repair work on his car so that he can continue to work with peace of mind.
