A loan of $1,000 helped to buy fertilizers for her coffee.

Carmela's story

Carmela is a 37-year-old woman who is married and she has 2 children from her marriage who are in different grades of primary school. She has made a living from agriculture for many years, which she learned from her parents as they worked in agriculture for their entire lives. She is an entrepreneurial woman who always seeks a way to generate income for her family. With the help of her husband, she was able to start a small grocery store business, with which she helps with various living expenses while her coffee is harvested. Her clients are the neighbors who live in the areas around her house, and for the coffee, various buyers who come to the area in search of a sound, quality product to resell.

She asks for help to buy fertilizer for her coffee crop, as her priority is to be able to get a good harvest and take maximum advantage of it.

Her plan for the future is to expand her small grocery store and divide the earnings that come in, one part for the coffee crop and the other part to be able to reinvest in the store, turning it into a small market. In the area where she lives, there are no strong and profitable markets. Her dream is to give her children a university education, as both are in high school and they have goals and dreams to fulfill and carry out.
