A loan of $350 helped a member to buy fertilizer for her farmland.

Maiy's Group's story

Living in a rural village of the Mougkul Borey district of Banteay Meanchey province, Maiy is a 48-year-old mother of one child. She and her husband earn a living by farming rice and planting cassava as the main source of their family’s income. They have been in this business for almost 29 years, earning about 25,000 KHR per day.

Maiy’s group consists of two members who live in the same village. She is an eighth-cycle client with VisionFund and she successfully paid back the past loans, which have helped her improve her livelihood. Now she is leading her group member to seek a new loan. As the leader, Maiy is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland. She hopes to grow more healthy crops and earn more income to make a better living.
