Lewis's story

Lewis is a resident of the Kongowea area of Coast province, Kenya. He is a retired teacher, and owns a retail shop, a business that he has been running for two years.

Lewis began the business through the funds he received from his friends. In this shop, he sells paraffin, sugar, flour, etc. Lewis is married, and has six children, the last two of whom are in school.

He learned about Milango from other clients, and joined the institution with the aim of accessing credit to improve the operations of his business. The main challenge is price fluctuation.

Lewis is applying for a loan of 31,450 Kenyan shillings to purchase soap, sugar, flour, etc for sale. The extra income from the loan will be added to his savings to improve on his living standard.
