A loan of $1,175 helped to buy sacks of rice, sugar, preserves and beverages.

Mercedes's story

Mercedes is 38 years old. She is a hardworking single mother. Together with Beatriz, 17, she lives in her own home she was able to buy thanks to working hard every day. Mercedes sells food (vegetables, grains, preserves, beverages, candies, etc.). She has sold from her own home for more than 7 years with her daughter's help. Mercedes likes her job, because she is always visited by people from the community and she is happy to talk to them about the progress in their town. She also considers that the most difficult thing is having to travel an hour from where she lives to buy the groceries, but she keeps doing her wrk, since it is profitable for her quality of life.

With the loan she has taken out, she will buy groceries, since thanks to the loans, she is always making her business better. With this 8th loan, she is very happy with the trust that has been put in her and she promises to make her payments on time, like she did with the previous loans. In addition, she likes being part of her communal bank, because she works with responsible members. With the 3,000 nuevos soles she will stock up with sacks of rice, sugar, perserves, beverages and more.
