A loan of $1,475 helped to repair the engines in his workshop.

Edgar Willy's story

Edgar is 51 years old and lives in the Senda III zone in the municipality of Chimore in the province of Cochabamba. He is a carpenter and supports himself by doing woodwork, which at times is difficult to obtain. Edgar is a humble and calm person, who learned carpentry from his father along with his brothers. They acquired many clients and became known in the market place for their woodwork, and eventually they all became independent. Thus Edgar acquired his own workshop. However, without realizing it he became dominated by alcohol and over time wasted what he earned and was neglecting his family. He reflected on things and dedicated himself to his family and his work. In time he suffered a misfortune, when the engines of his main machines seized up. He is also in debt and unable to cover his necessities. With the loan he is requesting from Kiva he will be able to repair the machines and continue working without problems. In this way he can provide his family with better days and happiness.
