A loan of $350 helped to buy seasonal fruits and construction materials for improving her stand.

Manuela Del Carmen's story

Manuela, age 43, is originally from León. She is married and the mother of four children, but only two of them are under her care. Manuela is a merchant who sells fruits and vegetables. She studied through the second year of high school.

Manuela started her business with a modest pallet of lemons that she sold at the market in León. With the money she earned from selling lemons, she was able to buy other vegetables that she also sold at the market. Today she has her own fruit and vegetable stand. Manuela receives help from her husband and children. Her products are sold at the market, and her hope is to maintain her business and restock it with more products.

She is requesting a loan to buy materials to improve her stand. Manuel will also buy fruits according to the season. The appreciating float from the loan will help to restock her business with all types of fruits and vegetables. This will attract more customers and, at the same time, she will generate more earnings. Her future plans include satisfying her customers with all of the products that they demand.
