Ninaka

A loan of $725 helped to buy supplies for her restaurant.

Ninaka's story

Ninaka is a 39-year-old woman who is married to a teacher. She has three children, all in school. The first one is 15 years old, and the last is 9. Ninaka has been working as a seller of fufu (food made from pounded yams and served with white sauce or tomato sauce) since 2011. She makes her sales with three persons in a pub and gets her supplies in Lomé.

Ninaka has requested her first loan from WAGES to buy yams, tomatoes, and meat. She wants to reinvest in her business. In the next few years, she would like to open another pub. She says she plans on using the profits for improving her family's living conditions.
