Gocha's story

Gocha comes from the village of Speti, Imereti Region, West Georgia. He is 56 years old and married. His family consists of four persons: Gocha, his wife Deniza, 25-year-old daughter and 22-year-old son. Gocha works as a joiner. He produces different wooden products (furniture, household goods) in his workshop and sells them locally. Deniza works as teacher in a local school.

Along with his main job, Gocha also finds time for the family's farming business. They have three milk cows and two pigs. Deniza produces cheese and sells it at the local market. The piglets are also sold locally.

The total average monthly income of the family is 600 Laris.

Gocha requests a loan to purchase a new, modern joiner's bench for wood processing. The new plan will allow him to diversify his production and offer new products to the customers. At the same time, the quality of his work will increase and he’ll be able to sell more products, as well as slightly raise the prices. The income of the family will increase and they’ll be able to improve their living conditions.
