Maria's story
Maria sincerely thanks Kiva for the support she previously received to build a stove and connect her home to the central gas network. She is 65 years old now and has three sons: two of them are married, while one has been ill since birth and depends on her daily care.
Despite her age, Maria continues to work hard. She is retired but takes care of her small vineyard, orchard and the land around her home. Her husband earns a modest income through occasional construction work.
Maria now faces a new challenge: her home is poorly insulated, which leads to high heating costs during the cold season. To improve their living conditions, she is once again seeking support from Kiva to insulate the walls of her house.
