Flavia
A loan of $550 helps to buy matooke, cassava, and potatoes for cooking.

Flavia's story
Flavia is 29 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Mityana region of Uganda. She is married and has three children, who are all currently in school. For the past four years, Flavia has been working hard to manage her restaurant, which sells cooked food.
To help expand her business, Flavia has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy matooke, cassava, and potatoes for cooking. This will also help Flavia to generate greater profits, increase her working capital, and pay school fees for the children. Flavia hopes that in the future she will be able to expand her business.
She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program, which primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have the collateral for commercial loans, but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
