Yony is 42 years old, he has a primary school education. He is married, his partner is a trader. He lives with his partner and step-daughters.
Yony makes a living buying and selling scrap metals and waste materials. He has more than five years experience in the trade that he learned out of necessity to have a source of income.
He operates the business on a mobile basis from his vehicle. He works every day from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm. One of his step daughters helps with the work. Previously he was employed on an informal basis.
He will use the loan to buy new tyres to maintain his vehicle and develop his scrap metal business which he hopes will increase his income.
Yony dreams of buying another vehicle to expand his business.
