A loan of $15,000 helps a grassfed dairy's milkmaid improve her milking parlor and bottling room for long-term viability.

Jenny's story
I grew up in the city but took a leap of faith in 2016 to support pursuing my former partner's dream of having a farm. Much to my surprise, I quickly became smitten with this farming life and it sank right into my bones. Life circumstances changed, and I've now been farming solo with my young daughter for over 5 years. It is not without its challenges, but I truly believe I am right where I'm supposed to be; I can no longer imagine doing anything else! These beloved cows have stolen my heart and together we have grown a committed customer base by producing the highest quality milk available in the area. We take care of them with daily moves to fresh pasture and they take care of us right back with their generous gifts and steady presence.
I have a strong background in food production and food safety and have always felt a calling to be directly engaged in nourishing my community. With our dairy, I get the joy and privilege of providing milk to local families who come each week to the farm to pick up their share. All of my infrastructure has been created over the years in a somewhat piecemeal fashion, but it's time to elevate my setup to the next level. With these improvements, my systems will be more efficient and effective, allowing me to bring in paid labor to support the growing business. While there is a gorgeous steady rhythm to daily milking and working solo, I need to have some regular days off in order to continue this work for the long haul.
