Petronila
A loan of $1,200 helps to buy a table, and also to buy corn and other necessary supplies for making tortillas.

Petronila's story
Petronila is 59 years old and married. She did not have the opportunity to go to school, since from a young age she had to work to help her family due to a lack of economic resources. She is currently living together with her husband and two of her grandchildren, while her children have their own households. Her husband works in agriculture.
For more than eight years, Petronila has worked making and selling tortillas, an occupation that she does every day of the week. Her day begins at 6:00 in the morning and finishes around 2:00 in the afternoon, when she is done selling her tortillas. In the work, she has the support of one of her daughters, who helps her with the preparation and the sales. With time, they have succeeded in forming a good list of customers within the community. She also raises small animals as a complementary occupation.
The loan will be used to buy a table, and also to buy corn and other necessary supplies for making tortillas. This will allow her to strengthen her business.
Petronila dreams of continuing to work selling tortillas and raising small animals. She hopes in the future to be able to improve the condition of her home.
