Faith's story
Faith is 24 years old and lives in the town of Kawempe in the Kawempe region of Uganda. She is married and has 3 children, with 2 of them currently in school.
For the past 7 years, Faith has been working hard to manage her charcoal selling and e-commerce, which offers mobile money services and sells charcoal. To help expand her business, Faith has requested a loan of 4,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more charcoal and float for business and will help Faith to generate greater profits and will be able to educate her children.
Faith hopes that in the future she will be able to construct a residential house. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program, which primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have the collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
